Heather Pacic - Creative Artist and Designer from Heather Victoria Design

How would you describe what you do?

I am a creative artist and designer who specialises in combining hand painted artwork, graphic design and textile design. My collections are ever-evolving but at the core are my watercolour paintings. Currently, I am offering original paintings, fine art prints, stationery, kitchen linens and gifts. Each and every item starts with an idea, is painted in my studio and is translated in unique, creative ways. I am known for my vibrant, detailed botanical paintings as well as local London landmarks.

What inspired you?

Nature is my biggest source of inspiration. It is so easy to forget this as we go along our busy days, so my hope is that my paintings could draw focus to the small, beautiful wonders in our world. I also believe that we should fill our homes with colour and joy - that you should see something on your wall each day that makes you smile and reminds you to take a breath and appreciate life.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Creating my own future and being an example to my children and other women who may want to start their own businesses. I really enjoy encouraging my clients to listen to and believe their own voices, bolstering their confidence and reminding them that they are brilliant. For many years I worked for huge design houses and had little creative license over my projects, so having the chance to make my own decisions has been so liberating. I have been able to accomplish so much more than I ever thought I would because I decided to believe in myself, work hard and commit to all the successes and failures that come with this journey.

What are you most proud of?

I am so proud of how far the brand has come, and the way it has evolved. I had created artwork for friends and family for years, but the brand was born after a girls' winter weekend away near Margate. I ran focus groups over long rainy walks, lazy breakfasts, and wine-soaked evenings. We are now a two-person team: two friends living in Greenwich with a passion for beautiful art and giving back. I am proud of our commitments to quality, eco-friendly sustainability and social responsibility. All of our materials, manufacturers and packaging are carefully chosen based on the impact on the environment, and the quality and ethos of our suppliers. We also give back to our community by donating art, financial proceeds, and time to local charitable groups.

What does natural beauty mean to you?

I think natural beauty starts from a place of health and joy - it really is a balance. For women in particular I think one of the hardest things to learn is how to take care of ourselves, and stop putting ourselves last. I feel like it is all linked - it is very hard to feel beautiful on the outside if we aren't feeling great inside. Self-care can be as simple as a hand lotion that makes you feel luxurious, pampered and cared for. When I shop for skincare I look for products that combine nature and science and look to improve the health of my skin whilst improving how it looks and feels.
